Disney employees begin weekly four-day work-from-office

 Film production company, Disney, has mandated its hybrid workers to return to corporate offices four days a week.

The order, which takes effect from March 1, was contained in an email by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Bob Iger, obtained by CNBC on Monday.

In the email, Iger stressed the importance of in-person partnership for the company.

Iger wrote, “As I’ve been meeting with teams throughout the company over the past few months, I’ve been reminded of the tremendous value in being together with the people you work with.

“As you’ve heard me say many times, creativity is the heart and soul of who we are and what we do at Disney. And in a creative business like ours, nothing can replace the ability to connect, observe, and create with peers that comes from being physically together, nor the opportunity to grow professionally by learning from leaders and mentors.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies opted for work-from-home or hybrid work models to curtail the spread of the virus.

But as the cases fell, most companies had asked workers to return to office as it was pre-COVID-19.

Like other large firms, Disney had introduced the four-day-per-week stipulation for its staff.

In September 2022, Apple mandated employees return to work three days a week.

Twitter owner, Elon Musk, in November 2022, ordered nearly all employees to return to the office five days a week.
