Firm pledges $1bn investment in Nigeria, others

  Visa  has announced a $1bn investment spread across five years in Nigeria and other African countries. It stated that its pledge which is set to run through 2027 will allow it to scale operations, deploy new innovative technologies and deepen collaboration with partners including governments, financial institutions, mobile network operators, fintechs, and merchants. Visa Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Alfred Kelly, Jr. made this commitment during the US-Africa Business Forum on Wednesday. Window For Reconciliation In PDP Remains Open ― G5 Govs, Others

Five governors of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by the Rivers State governor, Mr Nyesome Wike, as well as former governors, leaders and elders of the party clamouring for the sack of PDP National Chairman, Sen. Iyorcha Ayu, on Sunday met in Lagos, declaring that they still stand on the position they earlier took in Port- Harcourt, just as they reiterated that the window for reconciliation in the party remained open. Buhari Confers National Award On Atiku’s Running Mate, Okowa, Others

  The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, has been conferred with the national award of the Commander of the Order of Niger, CON. President Muhammadu Buhari conferred the national honour on Okowa on Tuesday. Okowa received the conferment during the National Honours Award Investiture ceremony at the International Conference Centre, ICC, in Abuja. The Delta State governor, alongside others, was honoured with the award of the Commander of the Order of Niger, CON. Among those conferred with the honours are some past and present leaders in various fields of endeavours. A total of 445 Nigerians were conferred various national honours. Hon Justice Olukayode Ariwoola; Hon Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad; Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala; Ms. Amina J.
