A 200-level Dental student of the Sultan Abdurrahman College of Health Technology, Gwadabawa, Sokoto, identified simply as Lukman, has reportedly been killed by his schoolmates over alleged phone theft. The deceased who is from Kalambaina in Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto state, was reportedly living in a rented apartment outside the school premises with the suspects who carried out the act. An eyewitness told Daily Trust; “His friends and fellow students accused him of stealing a phone belonging to another student. “They tied him to an electric phone, poured cold water on him and continue torturing him in their bid to force him to confess to the crime. “When he fainted, some of the students rushed him to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching hospital and he was confirmed death on arrival.” After the management of the hospital identified him as a student, they ordered their internal security personnel not to allow...
