Celebrity kidnapper John Lyon to be arraigned today

 The Bayelsa State Police Command has said it will arraign celebrity kidnapper, John Ewa popularly known on social media as John Lyon, on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 (today).

The Bayelsa police force revealed this in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Asinim Butswat, adding that the Lyon and his cohort will be arraigned in High Court 6, Yenogoa.

Lyon is known for his flamboyant lifestyle on social media.

Two months ago Nigerians were shocked to hear that the 30-year-old social media celebrity confessed to be involved in two kidnap incidents.

Lyon, who confessed to the crimes while being paraded by the police claimed that his gang members asked him to give them the address of his former boss, Danjuma Omeje,  and that few days later, they kidnapped him and collected a ransom of N45 million from him.

He said that after the operation they gave him N1.5 million to take care of the medical bills of his mother who was sick and in the hospital.

Lyon, who is from Akwagom-Eruan Community in Boki LGA of Cross River State, was arrested alongside his gang leader, Emmanuel Angase.

The statement by the police read, “The celebrity kidnapper John Ewa ‘aka’ John Lyon and others will be arraigned in High Court 6, Yenagoa, today 30 November 2022, by 0900 hours.”
