The Inspector General of Police has just been sentenced to three months imprisonment for contempt of court. His refusal to obey a court order made by the Federal High Court has earned him three months imprisonment according to trending report from the Federal High Court. We in the Human Rights Writers Association Of Nigeria (HURIWA) hereby applauds the justice system for this courageous decision which symbolizes that nobody is above the law. The Judiciary has exercised lawfully the judicial authority conferred on it by section (6) subsection (1) of the 1999 constitution. This order of the Federal High Court must be obeyed with immediate effect- meaning that the IGP should surrender himself with his prison bag straight to the correctional center in Kuje.    Bad Bunny is Spotify’s most-streamed artist worldwide in 2022, his third year in a row. 'Twitter has interfered in elections' - Elon Musk says

  Twitter owner and CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday November 30, acknowledged that prior to his takeover, the "obvious reality" was that Twitter " has interfered in elections" through its content moderation policies. Musk's assertion came in response to comments made by Yoel Roth, Twitter's former head of trust and safety, who indicated that Twitter was not safer under the Tesla CEO's leadership.  Roth was speaking at a Knight Foundation conference on Tuesday, November 29 when he explained why he resigned from Twitter, accusing Musk of running the company like a dictator.  "One of my limits was if Twitter starts being ruled by dictatorial edict rather than by policy... there's no longer a need for me in my role, doing what I do," Roth said.   As the head of trust and safety, Roth was responsible for key content moderation decisions including banning former President Donald Trump from the platform and suppressing the New York Post's coverage ...

Alleged fraudulent property sale: Defendants choose out-of-court settlement

The defendants in an alleged fraudulent sale of land located at Wasimi, Maryland have decided to settle out of court following an enrolment order in the case granted by a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja. A  Lagos-based lawyer, Olajide Ajana had earlier dragged the defendants, one of whom is a Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor, Goke Aniyeloye, Stephen ibitoye, (Ajana’s client) and Lagos State government to court over the alleged land transaction. Ibitoye is the first defendant in the suit marked ID/8990GCMW/2022, while Aniyeloye, the governor of Lagos State, Lagos State Attorney-General and The Director of Land Bureau, Lagos State were the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th defendants, respectively. Update: Police arrest final year student who stabbed his friend to death in Bauchi

  Detectives attached to the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a final year student of the Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education Kangere, who   stabbed  his friend to death.   According to a witness who spoke to the Nigerian Tribune, the deceased, Usman Umar, also a final year student of the same school, was stabbed by the suspect, Kamaluddeen Musa, over a girlfriend.
